Hi there, I’m Kyle.
Growing up in Central California, I didn't know a single person who was homeschooled. There was a stigma around it back then, and it wasn’t until many years later, when I met a dear friend who was homeschooled herself (Hi, Sarah!), that I ever considered it for my own children.
Fast-forward to today, and I am embarking on my 12th year of homeschooling this fall. Stepping into this school year gives me a deep appreciation for the journey—and a passion to help you navigate yours.

Before I starting homeschooling, I was—and still am—a credentialed California teacher. I taught middle school and truly loved it! I’ve taught in public, private, and charter schools, and along the way, I earned a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the University of San Diego.

With a career spanning public, private and homeschool settings, I bring a rare, 360-degree perspective to the world of alternative education. I hold a Master’s degree in Leadership Studies from the University of San Diego and while I spent time mastering the complexities of middle school instruction, my journey as a homeschooling parent of eleven years (and counting) has given me a deep, “in-the-trenches” mastery of elementary years as well.
